Zavratnica Bay

Zavratnica is certainly one of the most beautiful bays of the Croatian coast. Looks like a miniature Norwegian fjords. It is only a 15 minute walk along the coast from Jablanac. Until it can be reached from the village Zavratnica, descending from a lookout point sandy path to the bay.

St. Grgur Island (ex Communist political prison)

Situated between Lopar, Krk, Prvić and Goli Otok, the island of St. Grgur is the most northern mediterranean type evergreen island in the Adriatic and a feeding ground for Lopar sheep since the dawn of time. It unspoiled coves, beaches and groves attract numerous nautical and other tourists that love to feed tame fallow deer out of the palm of their hands.

Goli otok Island (Croatian Alcatraz / Gulag)

Despite having long been an occasional grazing ground for local shepherds' flocks, the barren island was apparently never permanently settled other than during the 20th century. Throughout World War I, Austria-Hungary sent Russian prisoners of war from the Eastern Front to Goli otok.
